FAMILY
The meaning of 'family' has great importance to me. My own upbringing and family were very conventional; parents who loved me unconditionally and an elder sister who tolerated me. It has therefore been a fascination to visit tribes and witness the customs within diverse familial lives , from the celebration of birth, how children are educated and traditions that are far out of my own comfort zone. One aspect shared by all however, were love and care. These tender moments I was permitted to share with them will forever be entrenched in my heart and mind, and when my memory fades I will always have my beloved photographs to reflect upon.
These photographs were taken in Ethiopia in the Omo Valley and in Namibia in Kunene of the Himba People. I work with a Nikon D700 and D800 and use only manual.
